Orchestra Conducting Masterclass with

NICOLÁS PASQUET

Maestro Pasquet leads the «Zubin Mehta» chair of Conducting at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid, as well as the «International Chair» in Conducting with the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK.

INFORMATION

PARTICIPANTS

Student conductors, early-career conductors, and professionals. Up to 12 active participants will work directly with the orchestra in residence of ProMúsica Murcia, Myrtus Festival Orquesta.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Five sessions with the orchestra  focusing of conducting technique and rehearsal management; includes between 110 and 130 minutes of podium / lessons – dress rehearsal – concert.
A public concert presented in collaboration with the University of Murcia and the ProMúsica Murcia Association.
Individualized support during podium work, tailored to each participant’s needs.
Individual meetings for personal or professional conductor development.

CONCERT

The concert on Tueday 25th of November will be held in the venue of the Masterclass and it will be in collaboration with University of Murcia and organized by Asociación ProMúsica Murcia.

At least three candidates will be assigned by Professor Pasquet to conduct the works in the public concert on Tuesday. Therefore, the session on Tuesday morning will have a double purpose: it will serve as a dress rehearsal for each participant assigned to the concert, and as a final recording session for the rest of participants.

Podium timing on Tuesday morning session might be different between participants.

We encourage all the participants to have the whole repertoire prepared and ready to be conducted in concert.

RECORDINGS

Each candidate might record their own lessons using the camera of the organization (Canon XA60), with their own SD-Card.

If you want a professional recording of the dress rehearsal you can also purchase it with the organization (price will be announced).

Concert will be professionally recorded.

TUTITION FEES

  • Active participant: €1,875
  • Auditor (listener): €300
  • Application fee: €75  The fee will be deducted from the course price if you are admitted as an Active or Auditor.
    • Ex. 1: ACTIVE applicant admitted will pay (€1875 for podium time – €75 fee) = €1800.
    • Ex. 2: AUDITOR: an applicant will pay (€300 auditor –  € 75 fee) = €225.
    • The fee will be non-refundable: if you do not attend after acceptance, or if you do not attend as Auditor.
  • Selected participants: notification by email within 7 days of the application deadline.
  • Seat reservation (selected participants only): €1,100 (until October 10, 2025)
  • Remaining balance: €700 (due to October 30, 2025) or in cash on the first day of the course.
  • Note: Fees do not include travel or acccomodation expenses.

Changes and cancellations

The organization reserves the right to postpone or cancel the activity due to force majeure or unforeseen circumstances (e.g., government restrictions, travel bans). In such cases, all payments will be fully refunded. No costs related to travel, visas, or accomodation will be covered.

Invoices

Invoices will be issued in accordance with applicable law at the time of billing.
